Ruben Kasselman, MMus. (Composition)

I am an accomplished South African composer based in Cape Town, currently working as an educator in music composition, music theory, history and piano. I am foremost a composer and arranger and I have devoted my entire education and career to learning the skills involved. In 2015, I concluded my Bachelors of Music at the University of Pretoria majoring in composition, music theory, music technology and performance. I received my Masters in Composition (cum laude) from the University of Pretoria in 2019. In 2013 and 2015 respectively, I won the SAMRO Bursary for Music Composition as well as an Academic Achievement Bursary. My composition Caged Bird for strings and selected percussion was chosen for the 2015 Composers National Collegium concert and workshop in Cape Town.

 

I regularly compose for various projects including films and short films, commercials, corporate videos, choral and orchestral festivals and animations.
